I hope you’re all well and thank you for joining me here again today.
This day marks my 7th week on lockdown. It has taken a lot of mental, physical, and spiritual willpower to get myself through it as I’m sure many others have. During this time despite the title, it has shown me how many superficial items I bought in my day to day life. This lockdown has truly shown me what I truly enjoy using for self-care during lockdown and what I enjoy spending my time doing. So, let’s get into it.
The Body Shop Spa Of The World French Lavender Pillow Mist
During times of anxiety at the start of Lockdown, I couldn’t sleep for the life of me. I couldn’t understand why, I wasn’t having any screen time an hour before bed, I was drinking my camomile tea, I was meditating to zen myself. But I’d still lay in bed with anxieties rushing around my head. One day I was clearing my drawers and came across this pillow mist. Honestly, it’s a game-changer. You only need two veils of mist on your pillow and I feel like I am laying in the lavender fields of Provence. It’s so relaxing and really does help to switch the brain off. I highly recommend you try it.
A Snuggle Up or Lounge Book
At the moment I am loving the Women’s Murder Club crime books by James Patterson (Highly recommend it’s a 20 book + series). I do love my crime novels but you could also re-read some classics and favourites such as Harry Potter, Pride and Prejudice, and Little Women. Or if you want a rollercoaster and emotional book I highly recommend Nicholas Spark’s work. His books without fail make me cry, I don’t think I’ve cried so much at a book before I read The Notebook. But honestly, with the uncertain weather at the moment I’m loving cuddling up in bed on a rainy day with a book or relaxing in the garden with some pink lemonade getting lost in another world on a sunny day.
I honestly couldn’t imagine being without my journal. It’s the second thing I reach for in the morning right after my water. I love writing in it in the morning to jot down my dreams, and creative ideas which come to me first thing in the morning, my affirmation and to get myself feeling positive for the day. In the evening I’ll write before bed about my day and how I felt. I also like to look back in previous days or weeks and sometimes I realise I can be hard on myself and it gives me that mental reminder to be kinder to myself.
I hope you all enjoyed my three most favourite items I use during lockdown. I honestly cannot imagine what I would do without my Pillow Mist, Books, and Journal. Make sure to let me know in the comments which items you’re loving right now.
I’ll see you Sunday for our Crystal Clear Episode 6!
