I hope you’ve all had a great Wednesday! During the past 2 weeks, I’ve been trying to knuckle down on my routines and habits to get myself ready for when we suddenly get the news that we can go back to work.
So, I thought I’d share my morning productivity tips for success with you and what is really helping me to check off at least three things from my to-do list by 12pm!
1. Wake Up An Hour Or So Before You Plan To Start Your Day.
My day doesn’t start until 9am but I make sure I’m awake for 7:30, this is what I like to call my ‘Ease Time’. Make sure you have something to look forward to this time. For me, this is when I like to sit in my garden with a coffee, meditate, and place my goals and affirmation for the day. It’s almost like your warm-up before you sprint into the day. By doing this you are giving your mind and body time to get a feeling of the day before you start the hustle and bustle. It’s proven by having this extra time and routine helps motivation and positive thinking. In the end, it will lead to a successful day.
2. Don’t Check On The World.
Leave your phone where it is, don’t switch on the TV. Before you welcome in the world on a new day you need to welcome your own world. You can leave it for 30 minutes before you check social media. Or if you’re like me, I slot a 30 minute ‘Social Time’ between 9-9:30 for me to check my emails and social media. That then gives me almost two hours to be in my own world and check in on myself. But, most importantly remember you are in control of what information you are absorbing. That’s why I only follow positive accounts, I stay away from the news, I only share positive or helpful content.
3. Have A Route For Your Day
While sipping my coffee, I like to look at my tasks for the day and plan my route to complete all the tasks. This could be blocking my day hour by hour or putting my tasks in order such as:
Firstly, clean my room by doing this I can also sort my paperwork. Then I can get some admin work done. Jump on my laptop and edit some pictures. Finish off with having a creative creation.
You could also do this as a timeline.
10am-11:30: Clean Room
11:30-12pm: Sort out paperwork.
1pm-2:30: Admin Work
2:30-3:30: Edit Images
3:30-5pm: Creative Creation
Extra: Prepare the night before.
In order to have a smooth transition of your day, prepare everything the night before. Plan your outfit so you don’t have to think about what to wear. You just put it on. Charge your laptop. Plan the next days to do list.
Let me know which of these you’re going to implement into you’re morning routine.
